Baikal ranks among top five destinations for youth tourism

Lake Baikal ranks among top five most popular cities and destinations for youth tourism in Russia, according to the survey conducted by the analytical agency TourStat.

46% of participants voted for St. Petersburg as the best destination of youth tourism, 15% voted for Lake Baikal, 15% - for Sochi, 12% for Crimea and Yalta, and 12% for Altai.

Youth tourism means independent trips by young people and students to explore the world and gain life experience, or to study. The category of travelers includes millennial generations born in 1990s and centennials born after 2000.
